Class Format
Small Group Instruction
Skating Classes consist of a 25 minute lesson and a 25 minute supervised practice. Girls and boys ages 4 – 18 are grouped according to age and ability.
Supervised Practice Time
Figure, hockey or recreational sharpened skates can be worn but no double runners. Helmets mandatory for ages 4-9 and strongly recommended for all students. Siblings of different age and ability have the opportunity to enroll at the same class time but will have different instructors.

Our Instructors
Approximately 100 Ice Skating Instructors make up the staff of Bay State Skating School. Many have taught at the school for over 30 years as well as being former or present figure skating competitors. Some have played hockey both in school and college as well as coaching or have coached teams. These professionals are dedicated and caring .Their goal is to teach excellent skills, make skating enjoyable and build confidence in their students. Instructors enjoy sharing the love of skating with their students.
Instructors belong to different Professional Skating Organizations such as Professional Skating Association (PSA), Ice Skating Institute (ISI), United Figure Skating Association and USA Hockey.
